suse 9.0 compatible wireless network cards (pcmcia for older thinkpad 600 laptop)
(too old to reply)

Can anyone tell me what pcmcia wireless network card is supported 100%
for suse 9.0 professional? I have a d-link dwl-650+ and have only
found 'unoffical' drivers that are supposed to be very buggy at best.
If anyone knows a way to make that work, please advise! Otherwise, I
would be willing to purchase a new wireless pcmcia card that is 100%
supported from the OEM.

Also, I can't get my ibm thinkpad 600 soundcard to work with a fresh
install of suse 9.0. Any help or ideas?

Thanks!

I just thought of sth. else .. when you are booting the computer after a
fresh installation of suse 8-2 or 9,0 then the network services is started
before the pcmcia, !?!? dont ask my why

therefore you will have to restart the network ("rcnetwork restart") after
booting if you are using a pcmcia card like my.

You can also just let it start the network after pcmcia ie change
/etc/init.d/rc5/S05network to S09network ie if pcmcia has lower number than
S09,,,
